About the artist

Painting moments of stillness

A little about the artist, the places that inspire the work, and the quiet way I see the natural world.

Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. I’m drawn to the quieter moments that can so easily pass unnoticed — changing light across a meadow, reflections on water, wildflowers growing where they are least expected, or the changing character of a tree through the seasons.

I was born in Finland, where the landscape and the changing seasons were part of everyday life. I now live and work in England, and I continue to find inspiration in the countryside, waterways and coastlines around me.

I work primarily in acrylics, building layers of colour and texture to capture atmosphere, light and feeling. I’m interested less in creating a literal record of a place and more in the feeling of being there — that brief moment when the light changes, the water becomes a mirror, or a familiar landscape suddenly looks completely different.

“
I don’t paint people because the viewer becomes part of the landscape.
”

There are no figures in my paintings. Instead, I leave space for the viewer to enter the scene and make it their own. I hope my paintings encourage people to pause, look a little more closely, and find their own moments of stillness in the natural world.
